Abortion

Abortion is a medical procedure to discontinue pregnancy. However, these days due to the availability of emergency pills like 72 Hours Pill and I-pill this has become a home procedure which is very dangerous. Types of Abortion

The use of medicine to discontinue the pregnancy is done till 8 weeks of pregnacy. After 8 weeks it is done through a minimally invasive surgical procedure called Dialation and Evacuation. In this procedure the patient is admitted in day care and the foetus is aborted using medicines. The gynaecologist then clears the uterus of any products of conception by dialating the cervix and using a curette to clear the uterus. The procedure is carried out under anesthesia and the patient is discharged from the hospital on the same day.
